theatremonkeys was founded in 2006 by singer and dancer Lucy Moir. Lucy began  theatremonkeys with an aim to bring fantastic quality theatre classes to children from 4 to 16 years of age and of all abilities. After a life long obsession with monkeys and apes, Lucy saw a perfect opportunity to name her business after her favourite animals!! Our school mascot is a toy chimpanzee called Tmo who is a firm favourite with all the children! theatremonkeys are based in Haslemere, Surrey and are delighted to have the use of the beautiful Haslemere Hall Theatre for their classes and workshops. We also run classes in Milford Village Hall. theatremonkeys aims to provide excellent and inspiring teaching for children and prides itself on providing a safe and secure environment for your child. Every member of staff is CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked to an enhanced level and are highly experienced with working with children. theatremonkeys are really proud to have professional links with performers from West End shows and the Pop Industry and there are frequent visits to the school to inspire and teach theatremonkeys pupils. The Team LUCY MOIR (MUSICAL THEATRE COACH & PRINCIPAL) Lucy trained at the prestigious London Studio Centre where she gained a Ba Hons in Theatre Dance. Professional Credits include 16 Gobs (Kings Head Theatre, London), Pippin (Bloomsbury Theatre), Three Piece Suite (Jermyn Street Theatre). She then spent an exciting two years travelling the world as a Lead Production Vocalist for P& O Cruises where she met her lovely theatre technician husband Graham who designs all the lighting and sound for theatremonkeys shows. She now teaches singing, drama and dance and has taught for Stagecoach, Theatretrain, and Top Hat Stage School, as well as freelancing as a Workshop Leader for The Old Vic Theatre in London. Lucy also writes music for children and has just finished her first Musical "Airy Fairy Land" as well as writing original songs for theatremonkeys shows. Lucy still loves performing and sings at private functions and in shows. KATIE STEWART (DANCE & MUSICAL THEATRE COACH) Katie Stewart trained at London Studio Centre gaining a BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance. Since then she has taught Musical Theatre for many years working for The Arts Educational School, Theatretrain, Stagecoach, SOTA among many. Katie has performed professionally as Principal Singer for Cruising Musicals Consortium, played Trish in Boogie Nights (UK Tour), Berelli Sister in Frank, Dean & Sammy (UK & Asia Tour), A Night At The Musicals (UK Tour), Beauty & The Beast and Peter Pan (Windsor Theatre Royal). Katie has just finished playing Pearl in Starlight Express, Germany.
As well as teaching many of the classes, Katie is also delighted to run the Saturday theatremonkeys school. JENNI CHURCH (ACTING COACH) Jenni first trained at 'Performers' Dance College and then gained a scholarship to ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) where she trained for 2 years. She started out her career as a dancer working abroad and in London, performing in Royal Gala performances at the London Palladium and shows for The Royal Variety Club of Great Britain and has also danced at Wembley Stadium for the opening of the Silk Cut Rugby Cup Final challenge. She then went to dance at sea firstly for an Italian cruise liner and then spent 6 years working for P&O Cruise lines as a Dancer/Singer. Since her return from the high seas Jenni has worked as an actor with TV roles in 'Grange Hill', Lime productions, 'Drop Dead Gorgeous', BBC , 'Waterloo Road' BBC, The Lost Royals' Granada and 'Heartbeat' YTV to name a few and has filmed adverts for 'Chiltern Finance' and 'Microsoft'. Jenni also played 'Lady Anne' on stage in Salford, Manchester earlier this year directed by David Johnson. Jenni has also enjoyed teaching students in Musical Theatre for many years and is delighted to now be a part of the theatremonkeys team.
CHARLIE CONDRON - (ACTING COACH) Charlie trained at the Arts Educational School and more recently at ALRA. She comes to us with a wealth of professional experience including having appeared in dramas for the BBC as well as touring theatrical productions as both an actress and a dancer. Charlie comes to us with years of experience teaching performing arts to young people and she has become a firm favourite with the theatremonkeys students already! We are delighted to have her with us.
SARA JEFFERY - (MUSICAL THEATRE COACH)Sara trained at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts School and gained expertise in all aspects of performance. She has spent many years working as a singer, dancer and actress and appeared in "Eastenders" (BBC), "Children In Need" (BBC) and "Coupling" (BBC). In addition to her TV work Sara has also toured the UK in "Sing-a-long-a-Abba" as Frieda. She then repeated the role in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom. As well as this Sara has toured the world on Cruise Ships, appeared in pantomimes and also "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" playing the role of Columbia. Sara is an experienced teacher of Musical Theatre and we are delighted to have her on board! JAMIE GOLDING (ACTING COACH) As an actor, Jamie Golding made his West End debut at age 13 playing "Gavroche" in Les Miserables (Palace Theatre, London). Other credits include: "Nicely Nicely" in Guys and Dolls (Kilworth House), "Rusty" in Starlight Express (Bochum, Germany and New Zealand Tour), "Tweedledum and Youth" in The Royal Shakespeare Company's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (Barbican, London and Stratford Upon Avon) "Daniel" in The Original London Cast of The Beautiful Game by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton (Cambridge Theatre, London), "Flat-Top/Rusty" in Starlight Express (Apollo Victoria, London), The Best of Times (Bridewell Theatre and West End transfer to Vaudeville Theatre, London), Kern Goes to Hollywood (Kings Head Theatre, London) T.V credits include: Two years as "Grimbo" in Grange Hill (BBC), "Sean Connelly" in The Bill (Thames TV), "Alfie in The Ghostbusters of East Finchley (BBC) Jamie is also a co-founder of www.jamkatstudios.co.uk with Katie Stewart.
GRAHAM MOIR (SOUND AND LIGHTING DESIGNER)Graham graduated with a distinction in a BTEC HND in Electrical Engineering for Theatre Light & Sound Design from Oldham College. Graham then worked as a Theatre Technician for The Hawth Theatre, Crawley for seven years working on a variety of touring and repertory productions. He then joined P&O Cruises aboard vessels Oceana, Adonia and Arcadia where he worked as a Deputy Production Manager and met Lucy who was performing in the production theatre shows! Presently, Graham works as a Senior Technician at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall in London. Graham loves designing the sound and lighting for all the theatremonkeys productions and giving the children's shows the professional look and sound they deserve!

Annie Reilly Annie is originally from Pennsylvania and has studied at the GSA Conservatoire as well as at Oxford University. She studied voice, movement, acting and stage combat. She has been involved in directing St Vincent's Children's Theatre, and teaching drama for Stagecoach. Annie also teaches Kaplan - a test taking strategy for young studuents. As a professional actress she has performed in The Kennedy Centre, St Vincent Theatre. The Caldwell Theatre and The Looking Glass Theatre. She is a highly experienced drama coach and we are delighted to have her experience and expertise as well as her wonderful gift for writing our excellent cheekymonkeys show scripts. Please note that theatremonkeys cannot guarantee the continuation of the same theatre coaches from term to term. All members of staff are CRB checked to an enhanced level.
